New chair and New coordinator
Mr. Satoshi SATO was appointed as Chair/Coordinator of IWG-ODINWESTPAC and Regional Coordinator for ODINWESTPAC-PP instead of Mr. Kunikazu NISHIZAWA who was changed on April 1, 2007.
ODINWESTPAC-PP was approved by Session of IODE
The proposal to initiate a pilot project of ODINWESTPAC was unanimously adopted at the 19th session of the IOC Committee on International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE-XIX) that was held at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy between 12 and 16 March, 2007.

Prep-Meeting
A preparatory meeting towards the development of an Ocean Data and Information Network for the WESTPAC region (Prep-ODINWESTPAC) was held on 5-6 December 2006 as a symposium session in the 3rd International Workshop for GODAR-WESTPAC which was held in Tokyo, Japan. [read more]
